Named in 2007 by Cincinnati Magazine as one of the 40 most-influential people who 'shaped our City' over the past 40 years, Christine's involvement in the renaissance of Cincinnati's downtown and surrounding neighborhoods of Prospect Hill & Over-the-Rhine have become legendary. As she tirelessly focuses on the development of quality housing for those of every economic level, Downtown has become her hallmark.
After 10 years of primary focus on the city neighborhoods on both sides of the Ohio River, Christine was recruited by Jim Huff to join his company and open his dream office; and thus, the beginning of the Metropolitan Office of Huff Realty was formalized in the autumn of 2003. She then went on to hand pick a group of dynamic realtors, from every sphere of influence possible, to create one of the tri-state's most successful offices. Christine is currently the Director of Business Development and Sales for Huff Realty.
Christine and her husband, George Verkamp, live at Park Place at Lytle, an adaptive re-use condominium project that she represented for Miller Valentine Group. She is proud to announce that as of May 7, 2008 she has sold out the entire 114-unit building ! (far ahead of other smaller projects in Downtown that were put on the market long before Park Place).
Christine sells new construction and adaptive re-use for such companies as Reese Campbell, Middle Earth Developers, Miller Valentine Group, City Lights, City Lofts, Central Park Developers, Camargo Homes and JFP Properties.
With a college degree from St Martin's in Olympia, Washington and a Graduate degree from Manhattan College in New York City, she has also had her real estate license and has worked full time in real estate since 1979; Christine received her Broker's license in 1986. She was named one of the top 10 Business Women in 2005, Mayor's 'Citizen of the Day' for Cincinnati twice, the 2002 Business Courier award for Top Sales Person and has been named to the Ohio Governor's top Award 10 years in a row.
Her spheres of influence are innumerable, as she sits on Boards of organizations that serve various facets of making our city a better place to live. She has been on the Over-the-Rhine Chamber Board for over 10 years; she is ending her 6th year on the YWCA Board; she is currently serving on the Keep Cincinnati Beautiful Board and the Mercantile Library Board and is this year's President of the Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati. The people these Boards service and the people she meets in these organizations contribute to her circle of friends, promoters, allies and referral network.
Christine's heart is in Cincinnati and she strives to continue the momentum of growth within the City neighborhoods. Whether it is to help a budding developer with his dreams, or to find a million-dollar residence for a Downtown executive, she puts her whole self into her clients' needs and their goals.
